My first post so I thought I’d keep it brief by pointing you to one of my favourite podcasts. This is from Australia’s Radio National Health Report hosted by Dr Norman Swan. The podcast is an interview with Dr Terry Platchek – Medical Director for Performance Improvement at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital (at least he was at the time the interview was done – no doubt he has gone on to even bigger things by now). In the podcast he goes on to explain how he has been applying advanced analytics techniques to assist in the delivery of healthcare services. It’s a great podcast and explains very eloquently the subject and what can be achieved given the correct focus.
